Mid-year 2011

I wont say im back again, thats how i've started my previous posts of late.lol

So much has happened since my last post which i am keen to update here.Again and again i would like to apologize for my procrastination as hardly took the effort to sit down and blog.

Right now,it's the 2nd last day of my two week holiday back home in KL.

During the past few months,i've already entered university and started my long 4-year journey to getting my degree.

Having already stayed there for the past 5 months,i can say with clarity that i've enjoyed my experience there, the campus looks great,a fair number of internationals and managed to settle down fast, thanks in large part to the friends i've met.

God has been truly awesome to me in my time there. The only thing i can comment on is my struggle to mix with people OTHER than the ones i mix with,my Chinese isnt exactly the best yknow, haha

Also want to talk about the Bersih Rally 2.0 (Google it).

Its really testing times for my country,a corrupt government,a blind police force and a ridiculous ban on the colour yellow for clothing (or anything related to yellow). With every stupid measure the government takes to stop and hamper the rally,i can only laugh at how dumb they can be at adding fuel to the fire.Their credibility drops with every passing day.Considering that the rally is tomorrow,i cannot wait to see how things escalate.

There's just so much injustice here that many people living overseas can be forgiven for staying there. The level of bias seen in the local newspapers (The Star) is a disturbing indication of how horrible the government will go to mislead the public.

Now yellow is seen as a one-way ticket to jail, can you believe that?! (Yellow is the primary colour used by Berish Rally organizers on their T-shirts) Talk about a severe blow towards human rights. Innocent people have been arrested for it, which is sad. Clearly our nation is far from the democracy that it claims to be.

But you know the old cliche ''Freedom isnt free?",that statement still holds true even now.How far will we have to go,as a people,to attain justice? How much must we sacrifice, before people snap and realize something must be done?

Deep down,i wish to be a part of this,to do something for others, for my country, for my family. But fear holds me back,i am merely at the early stages of pursuing my tertiary education and i dont want to risk it.

This country needs change, and it cannot come at a better time. For those who have really sacrificed everything for our country's sake,i look-up to them.Hopefully ill be able to do my part soon.Somehow =P

Back in campus.

February Blues

IM BACK!

Once again, procrastination has gotten the better of me and then comes the big delay in-between blog posts.

I did mention i was going to blog about the Langkawi trip i mentioned in my previous post but im honestly quite lazy to type it all out here, haha sorry about that.

You can go check out my friends blog which has a post about it in one of her latest posts.Just look for ''Chooi Si'' in the friend links on the right.

Back to things in my life!

A very Happy Chinese New Year to all of my readers (if any) and to all you fellow yellow Chinese people out there! =P

Mine was a good one as usual except that there were three things i strangely did not do this year which are suppose to be typical of a usual Chinese New Year tradition:
1.Eat an orange (Not a single one!)
2.Eat Yee Sang (That dish where you stir all assorted food stuff?)
3.Take a family picture (Very queer)

So yeah, the trip down to Singapore this time around was slightly different as the torrential rains a few days ago caused flooding in many regions in the country and it was quite apparent along the side of the highway we were travelling on.

Ive applied for work in a couple of tuition centres to kill time, but unfortunately they dont have full-time classes for me to teach at the moment apart from replacement classes. So instead im looking for a day job at Sony Centre.

Apart from that im just bumming at home with my laptop or going to church or to cell group or to gym.Thats about it.

With exam results coming in March,i need to make use of my time productively (Not to mention keep my mind of them results.

I suspect my Cbox on the left is getting spammed by malicious internet programs, alot people i dont know typing weird stuff.Hmm

Tell next time,take care guys.

2011

WELL,IM BACK AND A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL MY DEAR READERS (If any)!!!!! Sorry for the long overdue blog post, ive been too occupied with other stuff as well as plain procrastination for the most part.

Heres a list of updates on my life:
1.Well STPM is over, finally over.I dont want to go into the details but ill give a rough summary of how it was.

I for one, personally think that the pressure in STPM is very much less than compared to A-levels and that people should really stop thinking that its that horrid, its not.

Granted it IS hard, but only because you didnt study enough, but thats it.The label it keeps getting as one of the top 3 hardest exams on the planet is a ridiculous overstatement.

I also admit i did struggle alot during the exams, not surprisingly more so for math and chemistry, but i thank God for the blessings of atleast taking it and having some degree of enjoyment.hah

2.Post-STPM time has been chock full of activities for me

First off,was the church youth camp,of which i was a committee of.

Was a really great camp with lotsa memories, especially the feet washing part, was deeply meaningful.
Plagued by a fever like almost all the way through camp and got really embaressed because i kept sniffing and coughing due to sore throat and phlegm =S Strangely, that was the 1st time i got sick all year,of all the times to have it,lol
Games were cut short due to rain,i blessing in disguise?
At the end,i learnt a few important things about love and leadership from the camp, will miss my team mates!

When i came home, waiting for me WAS MY BRAND NEW BABY MY SWEET DELL XPS 15 LAPTOP!!! Unboxing it was sheer joy and turning it on for the 1st time was just soooo lovingly memorable =P Here's to great adventures with you my new sweetheart!!

On to Christmas!!

Barely had time to do some Christmas shopping as i was in camp and only managed to buy gifts for some people.

After that went to Singapore to visit my family there, played some charades and thrashed my relatives in that game, haha Its always nice to hang with the family =)

Not long after that was new years eve in church again,im just glad at the turn of the new year,im still having the time of my life with friends ill never forget and blessed with a healthy family..

Well, its time for my uni life to begin,im in no rush despite the fact that most of my friends have already gone to uni.Life for me is the enjoyment of the journey,so its no biggie.

On to my next blog post, the BEST holiday trip ive ever had:LANGKAWI WITH FRIENDS!!! =D

19

For my birthday, ill count my blessings and notice all the great things im already blessed with, especially the people.

This is especially to you Pav,if you're reading this, youve been an awesome friend, the first i made in Form6,i have to admit that ive feel like ive been a lousy friend to you. Thanks for everything so far and i know that our friendship can develop better after STPM ;) Love ya lots Pav (You get it la) and you better damn well know that haha

And to my butt, what else is there to say? Or to do? hahah guess not much really (Or is there?).We've gone through tons of stuff together,im thankful and happy that i befriended you way back in Form4,God knows how things wouldve been if it never happened, lol.

To my friends, thanks for everything, the good..and the bad,ive learned so much from all of you about the way life goes. You'll always be remembered.
And of course,my family.I love you with all my heart, and ill always try my best for you guys, eventhough i dont show it often.

Lifes good just keeping it simple and meaningful.Love you guys (again) and God bless =)

PS-Im sorry if this sounds too political =S

Ruin

They say that those who learn from their mistakes are the ones that make progress. But im an idiot,i keep making the same mistake again and again.I have to stop this....for good. Its unhealthy for me to continue like this.

Time to change course,quickly.

An update on life

So im back again, gonna update on life, hows mine?

Well for one,i think its been rather neutral at the moment.Week in,week out there are only 3 things i look forward to:
1.Starcraft 2 (Heck i spent RM250 for it okay,so i better make full use of it! =P)
2.Church youth service (Hanging out with some ol'friends, never get tired of it)
3.Football in the weekends (EPL is back,so atleast my weekends arent all about being stuck infront of this contraption anymore)

Trials are very close now....before you know it,the dust has settled and we all move on.

Funny thing is,again ive been neutral to everything around me.

Leaving school aint so bad, wont have to deal with those stupid nagging teachers/school rules, but its the last ill ever be in such a situation.

Friends are great too,but it feels like i dont really have to try too hard now because i know whom its worth continuing fostering it with and at the same time,id never be able to see some faces again.

Love life too (lol),i just want it to count, but at the same time, its not the most important thing i care about at the moment (More like i dont really bother, hehe)

I guess im at that phase where im happy with the way things are although their sorta stagnant.Thats because i know where i stand,i know the people i care for and i know the things i look forward to,so yeah,i stuck with those and things are going okay, neither too shabby or too sleek =)

Once all this is over (STPM),remind me that we should get together one day and just hang out,we probably have plenty to catch up on (Or not).Ill have plenty of time to kill.

Worldstage

There you have it:

Bunkface

Wonder Girls

Tokio Hotel

Katy Perry

Despite the star-studded cast of the event,it was horribly shadowed by the EXTREMELY long and agonizing wait in-between performances.

Lets look at the conditions shall we?
1.Gates were supposed to open at 4pm,massive delay, overcrowding, people were getting hot, sweaty and sticky. Not a big problem.*No food and drinks allowed, which will have bad repercussions later*

2.It started to rain, badly. The organizers were nice enough to provide free fans and ponchos for the crowd.

3.As mentioned earlier, the waiting time is horrific.People were getting frustrated, annoyed and they were booing *myself included*,funny thing is,it all evaporated within seconds once the performers got on stage.Still,im pretty sure people wont have the capacity to enjoy even world-famous performances after waiting that long.

4.By 8pm,you can hear complaints of people getting hungry and thirsty, since food and drinks werent allowed

5.It continued to lightly drizzle throughout the night

On the plus side:
1.The performances were top-notch,very entertaining and lots of fun, wether its worth the wait is up to the individual, personally i dont think so

2.Bunkface made Malaysia proud, performing all their top songs and arousing the crowd for the long night ahead...

3.Up next was Wonder Girls, appeared on stage inside cages which the easily tore open to start dancing and singing, there were guitars with sparks coming out from one side,a couple of Korean songs which only hardcore fans would know of and of course their ever popular song "Nobody But You" which they performed in GOLD dresses!! Really sparkly Gold dresses!

4.After another agonizing wait,Tokio Hotel came up next, and the dull drained out crowd suddenly transformed into a frenzied mob of fans within seconds! They really rocked the entire event and there were pyrotechnic displays as well!Hands were up in the air everywhere!

5.And of course, the reason why i came for Worldstage:Katy Perry!!
Loved all here performances (Except for the Peacock song) the only downside was that she couldve picked something nicer to wear, she wore a white tutu. Her ''Thinking Of You'' performance was probably the best for me on that night. She even climbed one of the beams of the stage as giant helium ballons started rolling over the audience.

All in all,the performaces JUST about outweighted the terrible efficeincy of the event.I can never forget the horribly long waiting times as much as i cant forget the wonderful performances =)

Back to Starcraft 2 (And studying) which i just bought! EXCELLENT GAME GO BUY NOW!

The final stretch

Well,mid-year holidays are over.Five more months and this chapter in my life is done and dusted....

Things are okay so far,but i have SERIOUS SERIOUS doubts to one of my subjects, its really breaking morale at the moment because i really have no will or drive to improve on it......of course,if you have been following my blog, that subject would be math.

Im actually happy to go back to school, even 2 weeks holidays are abit scary for me because theres nothing to do except bum around,if my metabolism was less active,i wouldve probably gained a few pounds............but that hasnt been the case for the past 8 years of my life.hahah

So anyway,God please help me,especially for math,im really feeling demotivated just thinking about it right now.

Back to school! Lifes good except for math =)

Man vs Wild *Sorry you didnt copyright it Jon*

To be confused with a similar post on another blog with the same title name,an innocent trip of 5 people to FRIM turned into a really random and wet bumming session which spread almost throughout the entire afternoon.

The likes of myself,Pavitra,Jonathan,Rowena and Azlin were dueling with the seemingly insurmountable odds of mother natures forces which hammered on us in the form of a cold gushing white foamy liquid known as river water, the geographically uncartographable terrain littered with all manner of dead leaves, branches, roots, felled trees, insects, slippery moss covered rock and................LEECHES.

If there are three things in life...sorry...four things in life i find absolutely revolting *Or to some degree rather disturbing/uncomfortable* they are:
1.Maggots *They crawl and squirm, and they do it rather fast*
2.Leeches *I got bitten by TWO today,it was a grotesque looking black thing that stuck to your body and starts sucking you of your tomato juice and you wont feel a thing at all*
3.Math *How someone can comprehend numbers and formulae is beyond my understanding of humanity*
4.Homosexuality *How can you not say yes to full-bodied women?!*

Anyway,it was all good fun accept for the leech part, ive done this kind of thing *forest venturing* tons of times in the past and ive never once gotten bitten by a damn leech...until today. It traumatizes me just thinking about it,its disgusting *I know i sound whiny, but heck*

Ok so apart from that relatives from Singapore came over as usual and im rotting at home as always.

Hope the new template looks good, till next time =)

Mid-year hols

Well, hows life for me? Alls good really...again with the exception of studies which i admit isnt going so well *For half the subjects im taking actually*.

Now that the mid-year hols are here,i just hope i can find something productive to do because i cannot stand being infront of this contraption for long hours days on end.hahaha

Im very happy with my friendships right now,i cannot be blessed any further =)

And the WorldCups like a corner away, ill be rooting for my beloved Germany all the way *Although i doubt they might be able to cope in the later stages* Bleh

The air of change

People change but yknow what? Ive always believed the most important thing to uphold is how we're coping with the friends we are blessed with.

So yeah,no problems too big,no hurt is too painful and no doubts too bad that no friendship cannot solve.Ive got your back friend, you have my word.

La La La

Owh crap,im seeing rainbows and sunny skies again.

Damn you Cupid....now of all times?!

Golden Friday

Another day camp? I dont think so.

This turned out to be,so far THE BEST experience in my Form 6 life =D

It had everything a typical camp had:The talks on STPM subjects, games and activities, and a BBQ finale at night.

But what really got me brimming was the fact that almost a year down the road,we've really come to be one big happy family and to see all my Form 6 friends having fun just chilling with each other is priceless.Ask me anything like this before i even started Form 6 and i would never have thought it would be this good.

It just proves that every cloud has a silver lining, and when i reflect on how college people look on us,or how everyone seems to be migrating to Australia,it isnt that bad after all.Life will provide the answers and in due time,we learn to love the things that we are provided with.

Excitement!

Well, things change and to my surprise, even the perceptions which i once thought would never change.....DID! hahaha

I guess it took awhile longer for this annoying phase to pass because im quite susceptible to emotion, but heck, whats done is done, ive learnt so much the past couple of years.

Im pumped and ready to have a go at it again, and this time im more prepared. Its amazing the things ive thought about, now they just make me feel quite foolish. hahaha

As a good friend of mine aptly put it "We deserve to be happy"
I couldnt agree more. The only way to really learn is to stumble hard, and then go through stick before you recover and realize how dumb you are.haha

Well,no regrets,im happy it turned out this way. =)

Another one week holiday..

(Yes Shu,indeed i have some F6 fodder)....well not exactly my school has this diabolical policy to make the teachers of all subjects give homework to the poor students effectively reducing holiday fun time by 70%.Really dumb~

Anywho,i just finished the monthly tests,i can say for sure that again its my maths that really needs to buck up,cus i just TURNOFF when it comes to math, never liked it.I really need some motivation to get me going to my math books again.

Biology is awesome.......until the veteran teacher that was teaching us got promoted to another post in a different school, meaning our replacement is some new form 5 teacher.HAIH...of all the years for this to happen, why ours?! %#)*#&)% Now we really need to put extra effort into Bio cause the way she taught made it look so easy.Bleh~ Anyway i love Bio so i seem to always score well in that eitherway.

On to Chemistry! The past few weeks,we've been doing our practicals (Yeah we're doing stuff in the lab again like Form5,cept this time round its more fun) mixing chemicals here and there, identifying substances, creating deductions and so on and so forth.I guess when your in Form6 they REALLY train you to be a chemist, thats why people say its so hard (Which i think most are ill-informed of really).Whatever we learn is all the basic necessities required to actually be a full-fledged Chemist/Biologist/Mathematician*coughs*...

Owh yeah, the recent hype about Glee *Yawns* boring much.Havent been bothered to watch American Idol either.I dont really have that much of an interest in tv shows really.Even im getting abit bored of football *Did i hear a gasp somewhere?* TV is something i rarely affiliate myself with *Apart from CNN which i tune in to almost sub-conciously oO*

Hmmhmm, friends? Well their all cool at the moment, always find myself hanging out with this whole bunch of classmates in school who are super nonsensical and very lame at times.I wonder if its worst than the people i hanged out with in Form5....hmm maybe, but im sure these guys are much more wittier ;) ''Old'' friends are still around more or less~

Owh did i mention SMKSS17 has a drumset? Its kinda weird cause most of the schools musicians were quite oblivious about it until like very recently *Days ago* Anyway, someone with my expertise *Mhmm* was needed because it seems there arent much competent drummers around anyway *Eleh...* They turned the small room in the corner of the computer lab into a makeshift studio which was cool and all.

One thing i remember clearly was the library caretaker *who also happens to be a bassist* showing his true colours in the studio when he started moving around and nodding his head in enjoyment. What i saw was the guy malay teachers playing together in the studio and hearing them play some really slow local rock song that can bore you to tears....and the singing...hahaha....the singing....*sigh*

Alas somehow or rather i find myself involved with school band *Not that i was into it really* Having to play for some event most of the band members dont even know of...the mess of it all.

I have a resurgent addiction for Pokemon again.Wont be elaborating on it though..
Well thats about it from me up till now, till im convinced im suppose to blog....cya =)

Chinese New Year etctetc

First off...

GONG XI FA CAI!! to all my friends and family.Hope the new year will bring with it alot of health, wealth and prosperity =D

My CNY was celebrated in Singapore, where the entire family resides. Its either they come here or my family goes there so yeah,we alternate every year.

Left on Friday came back on Tuesday, what happened in between? Well apart from the formalities there wasnt that much to do really, all the malls were closed, there was not much happening so all we did was chilled at each others houses and hanging out. When they come here,we'd usually be out the whole day.Haha

So yeah,it was a great but simple CNY for me,nothing much really.

Lifes good, nothing much happening apart from the usual friend get-togethers and school,so totally normal.

Now on to today (Thursday),where i went to Chooi Sis house to watch Sherlock Holmes with Sue Mae and Brandon. It was fun just chillin. We also made really dumb music videos on her laptop which can be seen on Facebook!! =D

Sorry,i dont usually post pics and vids here, too lazy.Haha

3 more days and its back to school and more HEAVY STUDYING to do! So till then take care and see you guys!

Saturday, February 6, 2010

Another phase

So yeah, lifes ok as always, need to study and be that little bit more disciplined =)

Thinking back on Australia was nice,i can imagine now lotsa people are going there to do their studies and probably migrating.Ive never thought about seriously making Australia my home,i might not feel happy there. But the people i treasure will/might eventually go there so,maybe that would be a huge factor on why i would wanna go there (Apart from career)

A happy life is doing the things you love, with the people you love,so hopefully all goes well and eventually things will fall into place.Like i said in an earlier post,i hope my life isnt just about trying to improve my position only, thats just selfish and pointless.

Blank

Ever felt like all you wanted to do is lay down,do nothing and dont give a care about everything else? And feeling like giving up on tomorrow or even today as if theres no purpose on getting on with life? Like an empty shell with no purpose...just seeing the minutes and hours tick away.

Often there are times when everything just feels...pointless yknow,we're all gonna die anyway...
Why the terrible morbid rant? Nothing bad happened actually,it just feels like ive lost interest in everything because nothing seems to be able to cheer me up....like ive lost momentum.

hmm..

Taking up my cross

I get the message now and the truth is real.

This life i live,i dont ever want it to be a selfish one, there are too many people like that living in the world right now, living for themselves and rarely for others.

Im tired of seeing drifters, tired of seeing people chase for self-glory,tired of seeing people suffering, tired of all the hypocrisy and the lies and the contradictions and those little bickerings that happen in other peoples lives. No,i dont want to be sucked into that.

I have to work hard,God help me because its not gonna be easy.

Studying hard, getting a decent job with decent pay and then probably climbing up the career ladder, earning more money, buying bigger better things, finding love through emotions, marrying and settling down, having kids and raising the family only to work even harder to save up for childrens education, growing old and then dying is NOT the way i want to see my life unfold.Thats what most people strive for nowadays,or perhaps they just let life drift by without a care in the world.

HERE I AM,SEND ME..
Its been in my mind for many years now,but by faith, its been made clear to me now:
I want to live my live...helping others and doing something meaningful for our broken world. It would make me happy to see myself everyday going out to help those in need, bringing hope into their lives, putting a smile on their faces, working to a better more considerate people, building true and sincere relationships with the people in my life, and enjoying every cherished moment i could spent with them and showing them what it would really mean to love others the way my God has loved me.

Whenever i see pastors, missionaries, people who work in the SPCA,child welfare,Unicef, wildlife conservationists....basically people who work their bodies to exhaustion day in and day out just bringing support and hope to the suffering...i want to be a part of it,to do what they do.The world needs more of these people,we have enough who only care about themselves and only the things important to them.

Its kinda naive, maybe a little childish,i dunno but i know in my heart that someway somehow, this is what i wanna be doing in my life.I dont know where to start and i have doubt that i may never reach this goal. But i know very clearly now, this is what i want my life to be like:Living the unselfish life

One step at a time la i guess..haha
